After checking your current tooth shade and the cause of discoloration,
we protect your gums and help brighten your teeth naturally.
This is professional whitening performed at the dental office: after protecting your gums, professional whitening gel is
applied to the teeth to help brighten them
in a relatively short time.
Before treatment, we check your tooth shade and oral condition
and set up an individual whitening plan.

If yellowed teeth or staining from lifestyle habits
is a concern,
one-day teeth whitening may be an option
after we check the condition of your teeth and gums.
We check your oral condition and current tooth shade before whitening,
then proceed step by step from gum protection
to gel application and finishing.

Spicy, hot or hard foods can temporarily irritate the gums,
so it is best to avoid them for 1 to 2 days.
Smoking can cause new staining and slow recovery.
Take care not to scrub the treated area too hard.
It usually settles within 1 to 3 days. If symptoms are severe, contact the clinic.
A periodic check is needed to confirm how the treated area has recovered and how well the whitening is holding.

The degree of brightening depends on the original shade of your teeth and the cause of discoloration.
Before the procedure we check your current shade with a shade guide and explain the change you can reasonably expect.
Your teeth may feel temporarily sensitive during or after the procedure.
This usually eases with time, but if it persists or is severe, contact the clinic.
How long results last depends on lifestyle factors such as coffee, tea, wine and smoking, and on your oral hygiene.
Cutting back on staining foods and drinks and keeping up regular care helps maintain a brighter shade.
Whitening works only on natural teeth. The color of existing restorations such as resin, crowns and veneers does not change.
If there is a noticeable color difference after whitening, separate restorative treatment may be needed.
Under Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) regulations, at-home whitening products are approved only up to 3% hydrogen peroxide, whereas in-office whitening uses a higher-concentration agent under a dentist's supervision together with gum protection, so the speed and extent of change differ (source: MFDS).
Another key difference is that the concentration and application time can be adjusted if sensitivity is severe.
It is unlikely to change the underlying shade of your teeth.
Toothpaste sold in Korea may contain no more than 0.75% hydrogen peroxide, so its effect is limited to removing surface stains and maintenance. Purple toothpaste works by color correction, making teeth look whiter optically (source: MFDS Standard Manufacturing Criteria for Quasi-drugs).
Scaling removes tartar and surface stains, returning teeth to their original shade. Its purpose is different from whitening, which brightens the tooth itself.
If staining is the cause, scaling alone may make teeth look brighter, but discoloration of the tooth itself is a matter for whitening.
